Al Wakra Municipality has caught four violations during its periodic checks on food establishments.

According to an official statement from the Ministry of Municipality, notices were issued against the violators.

During the checks, 115kg of stale food products that were found to be unfit for human consumption were destroyed.

The checks were carried out by the Health Control Department of the municipality from July 14-20 to check various food establishments within its administrative boundaries.

A total of 1,589 checks were initiated to inspect food retail and trading establishments to ensure their compliance with approved health requirements.

Some 8,000kg was inspected at Al Wakra Fish Market to check their safety and compliance with health requirements.
