The Public Works Authority (Asghal), in collaboration with the Qatar Scientific Club, concluded today the fourth edition of the Engineer of the Future program, which ran for two weeks and included the participation of 36 high school students.
The program reflects Ashghal's commitment to supporting young talent and developing national competencies at an early stage through community initiatives aimed at building an informed and qualified generation of engineers, while introducing students to the vital role of engineering in national development.
During the first week, students took part in field visits to several departments within the Authority, including Engineering Services, Quality and Safety, Sewerage Network Operation and Maintenance, Building Projects, and Information Systems. These visits featured interactive tours and hands-on workshops to familiarize the students with real engineering work in these sectors.
In the second week, participants moved to the Qatar Scientific Club headquarters, where they engaged in technical workshops and practical training sessions in working groups. They developed prototype models of applied engineering projects that addressed real-life needs, helping bridge theoretical learning with practical skills and fostering teamwork.
The final day featured a project showcase before a specialized jury composed of engineers and experts, who evaluated the models based on creativity, feasibility, and execution potential. The panel expressed admiration for the participants' level of innovation and commitment.
The Public Works Authority praised the success of the program, commended the students' engagement and the fruitful cooperation with the Qatar Scientific Club, and reaffirmed its ongoing support for educational initiatives that promote a knowledge-based society built on innovation and collaboration.
