Thirty outstanding Qatari students have participated in the first summer course launched by the Al Noor Qur'anic Educational Centre, affiliated with the Department of Da'wa and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs.
The course aims to enhance the level of the Holy Qur'an memorisation and develop participants' educational and academic skills during the summer vacation.
The three-week course focuses on intensive Qur'an memorisation, with each student memorising two pages a day, along with daily review of previously memorised portions.
The course is part of an integrated educational programme that encompasses Qur'anic concepts, practical worship, vocal skills, sports activities, and recreational and educational trips.
The programme also features courses in various fields, including cybersecurity, as well as chanting sessions and training on performing the call to prayer.
This helps hone participants' skills and instill Islamic and moral values within an interactive educational environment.
The course is part of the Awqaf ministry's efforts to offer quality programmes aimed at building a generation aware of its religious and moral values, and qualified to perform the duties of imams, preachers, and religious guidance in the future.
A number of participating students expressed their satisfaction with the opportunities the course provided to enhance their memorisation and review of the Holy Qur'an and learn new skills. They praised the ministry's significant role in organising such courses during the summer vacation. (QNA)
