French President Emmanuel Macron called Tuesday for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.
In a speech before the British Parliament during his visit to London, President Macron stated that calling today for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza is simply a message to the world that Europeans do not apply double standards and want a ceasefire without debate.
He emphasized that a two-state solution and the recognition of the State of Palestine are also the only path to building peace.
Macron warned that a never-ending war in Gaza poses a threat to the entire region.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced today that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 57,523 martyrs, with 136,617 others injured. Thousands of bodies remain under the rubble and in the streets, as rescue and ambulance teams face severe challenges due to continuous bombardment and a lack of equipment.
The intense Israeli bombardment continues to target residential areas, medical facilities, and shelters for displaced persons, amid catastrophic humanitarian conditions exacerbated by acute shortages of food, water, and medicine. There are growing warnings of a total collapse of the health and environmental sectors in the Gaza Strip.
