In an exclusive conversation with Gulf Times, Mr. Saad A. Al-Kharji, Executive Director of Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), announced the official opening of the 7th edition of the acclaimed “My Career - My Future” program. The initiative, which has grown significantly in reach and impact over the years, aims to provide Qatari youth with vital exposure to the professional world.
“Alhamdulillah, this year we have reached around 250 students who are actively participating in the program,” Al-Kharji stated. “More than 25 organizations from diverse sectors are collaborating with us, reflecting a strong national commitment to investing in human capital.”
“My Career - My Future” is recognized as one of the largest career-focused programs in the country. It is designed to give secondary school students direct, hands-on experience in real workplace settings. The goal is not only to bridge the gap between education and employment but also to empower students to discover their interests and align them with career paths in the labor market.
“This program focuses on experience-based learning,” Al-Kharji explained. “It enables students to explore the labor market, understand their own hobbies and strengths, and make informed decisions about their future education and career choices. It is a proactive step toward preparing our youth to contribute meaningfully to Qatar’s knowledge-based economy.”
Participating students are paired with organizations for immersive work experiences, where they observe, engage, and reflect on their potential career trajectories. This initiative is part of QCDC’s broader strategy to equip youth with the tools and insights needed to plan their academic and professional futures with confidence and clarity.
As Qatar continues to invest in building a resilient and skilled workforce in line with its National Vision 2030, programs like “My Career - My Future” stand out as vital platforms for nurturing the nation’s next generation of leaders and professionals.
