Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jabor al-Thani, representing Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), and Saleh Ali al-Khaldi, director of Al-Khaldi Law Firm and a cassation lawyer representing Al-Khaldi Law Firm and Legal Consultancy, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at supporting the former in its institutional efforts by providing professional and pro bono legal services.

These services will enable QCS to carry out its humanitarian and social mission efficiently and sustainably, a statement said Tuesday. Under the terms of the MoU, Al-Khaldi Law Firm commits to providing a comprehensive suite of legal services to QCS including representation before judicial and administrative bodies, drafting and reviewing contracts, offering legal consultations—both written and oral—as well as preparing legal memoranda and case filings at all judicial levels.

The firm will also participate in relevant committees in a legal advisory capacity. These services will be offered voluntarily, reflecting the firm's commitment to social responsibility and to fostering a culture of community partnership.

In return, QCS will acknowledge the firm’s support by displaying its name and logo on its official website and social media platforms. QCS will also invite the firm to participate in its official events, including the annual gala, and will organise cancer awareness workshops for the firm’s employees.

Sheikh Khalid stated: “We believe our mission extends beyond health education and patient support; it also involves strengthening the organisational and legal frameworks that ensure continuity and effectiveness. This collaboration with Al-Khaldi Law Firm is a true model of meaningful corporate social responsibility and a valuable addition to our institutional journey. We deeply appreciate this initiative, which will enhance our administrative capabilities and empower us to continue our humanitarian efforts with confidence and efficiency.”

“Since our establishment, we have believed that the legal profession has a social dimension that is inextricably linked to its judicial role. This initiative reflects that belief. Through this partnership, we aim to empower the Society legally and help facilitate its noble mission. We hope this serves as a model for partnerships between civil society organisations and the private sector in Qatar,” al-Khaldi, added.

The agreement includes the formation of a joint committee between the two parties to oversee implementation and explore further areas of cooperation. The MoU will remain in effect for two years, renewable upon mutual agreement.
