The 2025 Sports for All summer camp, organised by the Qatar Sports for All Federation, continues at the Lusail Sports Hall, as well as in youth centres, sports clubs, gyms, swimming pools, playgrounds, and public parks.
The camp is being held in co-operation with several ministries, public bodies, and institutions.
The camp, which runs from Sunday to Thursday for ages 6-11, encompasses a variety of programmes, ranging from speed and strength training, recreational games, mini-football matches, Muay Thai self-defence training, stretching, flexibility, and balance exercises, muscle strengthening, and table tennis.
It also offers training in skating, curling, and water sports, such as sailing and kayaking, as well as pole-control skills.
It features an introduction to the importance of healthy eating, educational workshops, religious lessons, and traffic awareness seminars, all aimed at developing knowledge and promoting positive behaviour.
Qatar Sports for All Federation executive director Abdullah al-Dosari said that the camp, during its second week, has seen a remarkable turnout.
The number of participants, both boys and girls, has exceeded 700 since its launch.
This, he said, reflects the growing community awareness of the importance of exercising for children and the need to utilise the summer vacation to promote physical activity and positive behaviour, and to benefit from participating in group activities.
Al-Dosari pointed out that the camp represents a good opportunity to benefit from quality activities that contribute to making the most of children’s free time, developing their skills, and instilling the concept of exercising as one of the foundations of community building.
The summer camp is part of a vision to spread the culture of healthy living and promote physical fitness by offering a comprehensive package of activities that combine sports, entertainment, and educational awareness.
This is supported by the ongoing support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the programmes implemented by the Sports for All Federation, with the goal of creating a promising generation that enjoys health, knowledge, and positive behaviour.
