The Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has launched the fourth edition of the “Our Summer, Our Way” programme, one of the most prominent educational summer events targeting children aged 10-15.

The programme is being held in 10 Da’wah centres across the country.

It will continue until the end of July, four days a week, Sunday-Wednesday, from 8am-11am.

It features educational and skill-based activities within the centres, as well as external events in co-operation with several government institutions, with the aim of providing a comprehensive educational experience that combines benefit and enjoyment.

The director of the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, Jassim Abdullah al-Ali, said that the programme aims to utilise students’ free time during the summer vacation through educational and faith-based content that reinforces moral values and builds basic skills and knowledge for young people.

It also teaches practical acts of worship, interprets Qur’anic concepts, and engages with educational stories from the Holy Qur’an.

Al-Ali said that the programme is supervised by more than 100 educational preachers from the ministry, and that about 1,300 students have registered.

He highlighted the programme’s diverse offerings, which include instilling Islamic values such as respect for mosques, dedication to reading, discipline, and kindness to neighbours.

The programme encompasses external workshops in areas such as first aid and vocal improvement, in co-operation with official bodies including the Ministry of Interior, Hamad Medical Corporation, and the Museum of Islamic Art.

The “Our Summer, Our Way” programme is a prominent annual event of summer activities, reflecting its commitment to nurturing young people and providing a safe and productive educational environment that contributes to raising a conscious generation with strong values, capable of positively interacting with their surroundings.
