Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, currently ranked world No. 2, continued his strong title defense at the Wimbledon Championships, the third Grand Slam of the season, securing a place in the quarterfinals on Sunday evening.
Alcaraz, who is aiming for his third consecutive Wimbledon title, battled past Russia's Andrey Rublev, the 14th seed, in a hard-fought four-set match with scores of 6-7, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.

The victory marks Alcaraz's 22nd consecutive win at Wimbledon, with his last loss at the tournament dating back to the fourth round in 2022, when he was defeated by Italy's Jannik Sinner.

In the quarterfinals, Alcaraz will face Britain's Cameron Norrie, world umber 65, who advanced after defeating Chile's Nicolas Jarry in four sets: 6-3, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3.

At 22 years old, Alcaraz is aiming to become only the fifth player in the Open Era to win three straight Wimbledon titles, joining the ranks of Bjorn Borg, Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, and the seven-time Wimbledon champion, Novak Djokovic.
