At least 15 Palestinians were martyred early Friday when Israeli warplanes targeted tents sheltering displaced families in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, according to the Palestinian news agency (WAFA).

Most of the victims reportedly belonged to the same family. Several others were injured in the attack.

In a separate incident, Israeli artillery also shelled displacement tents in the Al-Mawasi area of Rafah.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces blew up several residential homes in northern Khan Yunis, intensifying the destruction in the already-devastated region.

The latest wave of attacks comes amid a broader escalation of Israeli bombardment across the Gaza Strip since Thursday. More than 100 people have been killed in the past 24 hours, including 51 Palestinians who reportedly died while waiting to receive humanitarian aid.
