HE the Advisor to the Prime Minister and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Majid bin Mohammed al-Ansari Monday stressed Qatar’s commitment to efforts to reach an agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue.

During the weekly press briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, he said efforts are continuing to reach a broader agreement on Iran's nuclear programme. “Qatar is engaged in contacts to reach an agreement between Washington and Tehran,” he said.

Al-Ansari explained that there are currently no talks regarding Gaza while there are contacts between the parties to reach a formula for returning to negotiations.

He said that it has become difficult to accept the continued human losses in the Gaza Strip. “It is unacceptable to continue linking the humanitarian and military aspects in Gaza,” he said the Israeli intransigence is preventing the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip.

“There are no talks regarding Gaza, but there are communications to find a formula for returning to negotiations. We see positive language from Washington regarding reaching an agreement in Gaza,” he said adding that a system already exists to distribute aid in Gaza through humanitarian organisations and there is no need to reinvent new mechanisms.
