Over the past year, Qatar Charity (QC) continued its vital humanitarian and developmental role in supporting the most vulnerable populations in Turkiye and northwest Syria, a statement said.

Through its field office, QC implemented projects across key sectors, including health, education, food security, and social care, reaching over 1mn beneficiaries.

QC allocated more than $7mn to healthcare initiatives in Turkiye and Syria, benefiting over 569,000 people. The initiative supported 12 health centers in Idlib, rural Aleppo, and the Peace Spring area, offering emergency services, paediatric care, and health education to over 524,000 individuals at a cost exceeding $5mn.

In addition to operating 18 ambulances across several provinces, QC supplied essential pharmaceuticals to health centres, strengthening the continuity and accessibility of both primary and specialised medical services.

In northern Aleppo, paediatric health services were significantly bolstered with support for the children’s department at Al-Ra’i Hospital. QC also facilitated brain tumour removal surgery, distributed 43 hearing aids, and provided six wheelchairs, assisting 50 individuals in total.

In the education sector, QC targeted out-of-school and affected children in northwest Syria by distributing 3,644 school bags and stationery kits valued at around $82,000. Nearly $2mn was dedicated to food security projects, benefiting 156,477 individuals.

A milestone achievement was the inauguration of 'City of Alamal,' a residential complex comprising 1,400 housing units for displaced Syrian families. The homes are designed to accommodate over 8,800 people and are supported by essential facilities.

Water and sanitation projects totalled more than $285,000 and benefited over 60,000 individuals in camps across northwest Syria, addressing one of the region’s most critical needs. QC also allocated over $8mn to social welfare programmes, impacting more than 161,000 beneficiaries.
