The Doha Municipality, represented by the Services Affairs Department (Cemeteries Services Section), has launched a new ‘Muzoon’ electric car at Mesaimeer cemetery.

Described as the first of its kind dedicated to cemetery visitors, the car is equipped with a fully integrated handwashing system. The car will operate regularly at Mesaimeer cemetery with future plans to expand the service to enhance the visitor experience and promote a culture of public hygiene.

This unique initiative responds to the community's need for a healthy and practical way to wash hands with soap and water after burials, an official statement said. An electric golf cart was redesigned and converted into a mobile unit equipped with a modern washing and drying system, available free of charge to cemetery visitors.

The name ‘Muzoon’ is inspired by rain clouds, a symbolic sign of purity and cleanliness. This initiative represents a model for environmental innovation as Doha Municipality strives to provide humanitarian services that address community needs and keep pace with modern environmental trends with a spirit of innovation and sustainability.
