The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has urged not to be swayed by rumors or inaccurate information. In a press conference, telecasted by Qatar TV on Monday, Col Dr Jabr Hamoud Jabr al-Naimi, official spokesman of MoI, asked the public to show social responsibility.
He said the National Command Centre received a number of reports of shrapnel falling in residential areas and they were quickly dealt with in coordination with the Ministry of Defense and the Internal Security Force. He said no injuries were recorded and all matters are stable.
“We are taking all preventive and precautionary measures in accordance with pre-prepared plans to deal with such emergency situations, and we are working in continuous coordination with our partners to ensure that daily life continues normally,” he said.
“Security and stability in Qatar are a top priority, and no external developments will be allowed to affect the safety of our society or disturb public life,” he added.
