The Ministry of Defence has strengthened its readiness and preparedness to deal with the repercussions of the current crisis in the Middle East following the recent escalation between Israel and Iran,Major General Shayeq Misfer al-Hajri, Deputy Chief of Staff for Joint Operations has said. In a press conference, telecasted by Qatar TV on Monday, al-Hajri said the armed forces have activated all their plans to secure their airspace, territorial waters and economic zones.

He said the Qatari Armed Forces managed to shoot down 18 out of 19 missiles, while one missile fell on Al Udeid Air Base without causing any material losses or human casualty.

“Our armed forces reassure everyone, citizens and residents alike, that they are always at the highest levels of readiness to ensure security and stability for all who live on the country's soil,” he said.
