Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has announced the temporary closure of Kuwaiti airspace starting Monday until further notice.

The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported that this comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the security and safety of the country and in light of the precautionary measures taken in a number of neighboring countries, which included the closure of their airports and airspace.

KUNA quoted the DGCA statement as saying the concerned authorities affirm that this decision comes within the framework of maintaining the highest levels of safety and security in light of regional developments, noting constant coordination with the relevant local and international authorities to monitor developments and take the necessary measures.
