The ongoing second edition of the Indian Mango Festival (Al Hamba Exhibition) at Souq Waqif recorded sales of 56,000kg and received 52,600 visitors in the first five days, according to an X post by Souq Waqif.

Different varieties of Indian mangoes are sold at the festival, held at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif. To run until June 21, the festival is organised by the Private Engineering Office (PEO) in co-operation with the Indian embassy from 4pm to 9pm except on public holidays when the closing is at 10pm.
“The exhibition has drawn a diverse audience of families, citizens, residents and tourists from various nationalities, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere,” the statement said.

“Participating vendors confirmed that all mango varieties showcased at the exhibition are imported specifically for this event via direct air shipments from India on a daily basis ensuring the highest levels of freshness and quality,” it explained.

The festival features 55 varieties of mangoes along with cakes, sweets, ice creams and juices. Most famous Indian mango varieties including Rajapuri, Malgova, Neelam, Alphonso, Kesar, Badami, Mallika, Imam Pasand, Kalapadi, Totapuri, Chakkarakkutti and Sindoor are featured in the expo. The expo is participated by 38 Indian companies.
