As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with national academic institutions and promote the concept of direct, practical learning, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) hosted a delegation of students from the Executive Master’s Programme in Leadership at Qatar University (QU)’s College of Business and Economics.

The visit aimed to familiarise the students with the HMC’s administrative and healthcare environment and to link theoretical knowledge with its practical application within one of the region’s leading healthcare systems.

The Training and Development Section at the HMC’s Human Resources Department organised a series of meetings and discussion sessions with a select group of executive HMC leaders for the 29 students.

The sessions included an overview of key administrative topics, the exchange of expertise and experiences with the students, and discussions on strategic subjects such as the organisational structure, governance, leadership strategies, and development programmes aimed at enhancing the quality of healthcare.

The sessions also addressed the challenges facing the healthcare sector and explored ways to effectively manage them.

Mona al-Homaiddi, acting chief of business services and acting chief human resources officer at the HMC, emphasised the importance of integrated efforts between academic and professional institutions, given their vital role in knowledge and expertise exchange and in strengthening leadership capabilities.
Sabiha Qasimi, executive director of talent development at the HMC, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the HMC’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.

She highlighted the HMC’s most significant achievements in recent years, which have strengthened its position both locally and internationally, as a leading healthcare model in the Middle East and a cornerstone in supporting Qatar’s healthcare system.

During the sessions, the HMC’s efforts to develop services were addressed, including the implementation of international best practices in quality and patient safety, which resulted in receiving accreditation from the Joint Commission International for many facilities as a recognition of continuous commitment to quality and clinical excellence.

The sessions also highlighted the HMC’s local and international partnerships that support the implementation of development projects within the corporation, particularly collaborations with academic and research institutions.
