The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) has won the Google Cloud Research Excellence Award in Cloud and Infrastructure AI during Google Cloud Summit 2025 in Doha.
HE the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali al-Mannai presented the award to UDST Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr Rachid Benlamri.
The award was granted in recognition of the university's outstanding research efforts, particularly its G-Lab, which is supported by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. G-Lab is an advanced platform for applied research in areas such as data analytics, bioinformatics, engineering, and high-performance computing.
UDST President Dr Salem bin Nasser al-Naemi took pride in the global recognition that manifests the institution's commitment to developing an advanced research environment based on the latest AI and cloud computing technologies.
This accomplishment aligns with UDST’s vision to make the itself a leading centre for scientific research and innovation in Qatar and the region, and an active contributor to the goals of the Third National Development Strategy, he said.
