Qatar News Agency (QNA) organised a blood donation campaign at its main facility in collaboration with the Qatar National Blood Donation Center of Hamad Medical Corp (HMC), in observance of World Blood Donor Day, marked annually on June 14.
Held under the theme 'Give blood, give hope: together we save lives', the campaign witnessed a record turnout and strong engagement from QNA functionaries, who expressed their pride in contributing to this humanitarian endeavour.
They underscored the critical importance of blood donation in saving patients' lives, particularly in emergency cases, surgical procedures, accidents, and for individuals with medical conditions that require regular transfusions.
The move is part of QNA’s steadfast commitment to societal responsibility. The agency, which celebrated its Golden Jubilee on May 25, 2025, has been regularly organising such campaigns in support of efforts aimed at improving patients' quality of life and bolstering the availability of safe blood supplies.
The campaign highlights the humanitarian and interdependent orientation QNA pursues, in sync with the prevailing societal culture in Qatar and its commitment to contributing to public health and safety, as well as to the national healthcare system, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Blood donation is regarded as a noble act that directly contributes to saving the lives of individuals suffering from chronic or malignant illnesses, as well as victims of major accidents who sustain severe blood loss, in addition to other urgent and life-threatening cases.
HMC had previously launched the National Interactive Blood Donation Campaign with the aim of encouraging citizens and residents alike to engage in regular blood donation, bolster the national blood bank reserves, and raise public awareness about the vital importance of this humanitarian endeavour.
