DTAC 2025 — District 116’s flagship Toastmasters convention was held over two days with more than 500 participants.
The event with the theme ‘Amplify Your Voice’, was opened by district director Sabeena M K. The welcome address was given by DTAC chair Hamad Mohsen al-Yafei, and co chair Manzoor Moideen.
The keynote address titled ‘Leadership: Reality or Myth?’ was given by past international president Mohamad Murad.
World Champion of Public Speaking Ramona J Smith (WCPS 2018) led sessions on ‘Lead with Voice, Inspire with Presence’ and ‘Power Beyond the Podium: Influence That Lasts’. A series of parallel training workshops further enriched the learning experience.
Topics included visionary leadership, communication etiquette, and the journey from speaker to entrepreneur — delivered by trainers Joseph Shabu Stanley, Rajesh V C, Christopher Almeda, Liaqat Amin Satti, and Martin Thomas Arakkal.
The District 116 Speech Contests were a major highlight of DTAC 2025.
The winners, in the order of first, second and third places were: Evaluation - Abhishek Chattopadhyay, Nisha Shivram, Cinderella Williams; Humorous - Sheik Abdul Kader, Jithin Joseph, Milton Swaminathan; Table Topics - Roshan Sukheja, Nisha Shivram; International - Nisha Shivram, Mohamed Thousif, Tariro Dorcas Matibiri.
The event also recognised exceptional service through district awards and leadership honours for 2023–24 and the newly inducted officers for 2025–26.
