A training course on 'Licensing and Inspection of Nuclear Gauges', organised by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change's Radiation Protection Department, in co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency has concluded.
The five-day course, which featured a select group of experts and specialists in the field of radiation safety, concluded in the presence of Abdulhadi al-Marri, Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs, who distributed certificates of appreciation to the trainees.
The course aimed to enhance the capabilities of national personnel in monitoring and inspecting the use of radiation technologies in the industrial sector to reinforce radiation safety standards and ensure the safe and responsible use of these technologies Qatar.
The course included theoretical and practical training that covered international requirements for radiation safety, technical inspection mechanisms, the latest systems and technologies for radiation detection and monitoring, in addition to field applications simulating inspection and regulatory enforcement scenarios.
The training course was organised as part of the ministry’s efforts to develop regulatory infrastructure, strengthen capabilities, and enhance co-operation with specialized international organisations to align with global best practices in protecting the environment and public health in the country.
