Indian javelin throw sensation, Olympian Neeraj Chopra, was honoured at MES Indian School. He was in Doha for the IAAF Diamond League. The school’s management, staff and students welcomed the champion. He was escorted by the school band, scout and guides and Campus Care Force (CCF) volunteers.
Chopra addressed the students, sharing his success story, the challenges that he faced, and the hard work he exerted to achieve glory. He urged the students to pursue their passions and never give up on their dreams. He also emphasised the importance of discipline, dedication, and determination in pursuit of success.
MES governing board’s sports and games director Badarudheen Gulam Mohiyudheen, principal Dr Hameeda Kadar, and other officials were present. This segment was followed by a kids’ relay race flagged off by Chopra amidst jubilation. The participants of the race were honoured with certificates issued by the Athletic Federation of Qatar.
Chopra also planted a sapling on the school campus with the aid of CCF members. The students presented him with handmade cards and bouquets. The Physical Education Department co-ordinated the event.
