Qatar Chamber second vice-chairman Rashid bin Hamad al-Athba held a meeting with Piotr Matczuk, chairman of the Polish State Development Fund, and his accompanying delegation in Doha recently.

The meeting, which was attended by Qatari businessman Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Jassim al-Thani and Polish ambassador Tomasz Sadzinski, discussed co-operation in the fields of trade and economy, the available investment climate and opportunities, and ways to enhance cooperation between Qatar Chamber and the Polish Development Fund.

Al-Athba lauded the strong relations between Qatar and Poland in various fields, particularly in trade and the economy. He noted that the volume of trade exchange between both countries reached QR4.2bn in 2024. He highlighted the importance of activating the memorandum of understanding and the agreement signed between Qatar Chamber and the Polish Chamber of Commerce in 2011 for the establishment of a Joint Business Council.

He also called for enhancing the exchange of information and data regarding trade and investment legislation and regulatory developments in both countries. Further, he stressed the importance of facilitating business visits and delegations to explore available opportunities, and of organising exhibitions to showcase products from both countries.

Matczuk noted that his delegation comprised several heads of leading Polish companies operating in the sectors of energy, Information Technology, transportation, and logistics. They are eager to establish partnerships and alliances with Qatari counterparts, he added.

Sheikh Mohammed affirmed the interest of Qatari businesspeople in exploring the Polish market and identifying promising investment opportunities. He highlighted that Poland is an attractive and competitive investment destination. In turn, Sadzinski emphasised the distinguished nature of Qatari-Polish relations across various sectors, especially in the fields of commerce and economy.
