President of Syria Ahmad Al-Sharaa received a phone call Wednesday evening from EU President Antonio Costa.

The conversation addressed the EU's decision to lift sanctions on Syria, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).

Costa considered the decision a significant boost to Syria's stability. He noted that holding the donor conference in Brussels confirms the EU's commitment to helping Syria achieve stability.

President Al-Sharaa expressed his thanks to the EU president and member states for the decision to lift sanctions, describing it as a historic step that will contribute to moving the country toward a more stable future.

Al-Sharaa indicated that Israeli interventions continue to affect Syria, affirming the need for the EU to stand by Syria to stop these interventions.
