Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail)’s Contracts and Procurement Department has received the “Procurement Excellence” certificate from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), the world’s leading body in defining best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
CIPS Arabia general manager Ahsan Sarwar presented the certificate in the presence of Qatar Rail managing director and chief executive Dr Abdulla al-Subaie during a ceremony held at Qatar Rail’s headquarters.
The milestone highlighted the continued commitment of Qatar Rail’s Contracts and Procurement Department to excellence and the adoption of global best practices in procurement.
The company aims to ensure financial sustainability, optimal use of resources, and the delivery of added and sustainable value through the adoption of professional procurement practices aligned with the highest international standards.
The certificate also serves as a testament to Qatar Rail’s strong and effective governance, ensuring supply continuity and adherence to the highest standards in the field.
“This distinguished achievement is a clear affirmation of our commitment to implementing global best practices in procurement and reflects the dedication of our team in reinforcing governance, transparency, and delivering sustainable value to our partners and society,” said Qatar Rail procurement director Sultan Khalifa al-Hitmi.
