The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) held a celebration on International Nurses and Midwives Day 2025, honouring its nursing and midwifery staff in recognition of their dedication and vital role in delivering care – and reinforcing their status as a fundamental pillar of Qatar’s healthcare system.
“With pride and heartfelt gratitude, we celebrate International Nurses Day in appreciation of the soldiers of humanity who are always on the frontlines – providing care and planting hope in hearts,” said PHCC managing director Dr Mariam Abdul Malik.
“On International Nurses Day, we stand in reverence of those who have made giving a way of life – whose hands have been a balm to patients, and whose hearts have offered a refuge of hope,” said PHCC (Operations and Senior Consultant of Family Medicine) executive director Dr Samya Ahmed al-Abdulla. “Nursing is the quiet strength that often goes unseen, yet makes a difference every single day, every moment, with silent dedication.”
The PHCC marked the occasion with an event at Umm Slal Health Centre under the theme *Empowering Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery.
The event celebrated the vital role that nurses and midwives play in advancing healthcare in Qatar.
The international theme for this year is *Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies.
Outstanding nursing and midwifery professionals were recognised for their notable contributions to patient care and community health.
