In celebration of World Environment Day, Aster DM Healthcare, in collaboration with Doha Environmental Actions Project (Deap) Qatar, organised a cleaning campaign at a beach near Zubara Fort, collecting 90kg of waste.

The initiative is part of 'Aster Green Choice' programme, a long-term commitment to environmental stewardship, which encourages both individual and corporate responsibility towards protecting the planet, a statement said.

The cleanup saw the participation of volunteers from diverse sectors of society, including representatives from Microsoft, PwC, and the American School of Doha, showcasing the power of collective action in addressing environmental challenges.

José Saucedo, director of Deap Qatar, highlighted the importance to incorporate all sectors of society in their efforts to raise environmental awareness and protect the natural environment in Qatar. He thanked Aster DM Health Care for being part of the movement that is inspiring, empowering, and enabling youth and the public to get involved and give back to the community.

Kapil Chib, chief operating officer of Aster DM Healthcare – Qatar, said: “At Aster, our mission extends beyond healthcare. We are committed to building healthier communities in every sense — including a healthier planet. Initiatives like this beach cleanup reflect our values and our belief in collective action for a sustainable future. We are proud to collaborate with Deap Qatar and will continue to invest in meaningful environmental initiatives.”

In line with the World Environment Day celebrations, Aster Medical Centre – C Ring Road is also organising an e-waste collection drive in Basement 2 of the facility. The initiative encourages community members to responsibly dispose of old and unused electronics, reducing harmful waste and promoting sustainable recycling practices, the statement added.
