Twelve Palestinians were martyred and others injured Friday in ongoing Israeli airstrikes and shelling on several areas in the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources in the Gaza Strip said that four citizens were killed when an Israeli drone bombed an area near the Andalus Tower, northwest of Gaza City, while another person was martyred and several others were injured in shelling that targeted a residential house near Al Awda Hospital in the Tal al Zaatar neighborhood.

In a related development, Al Awda Hospital said in a statement that the occupation forces were carrying out heavy shelling in its vicinity, causing shrapnel to fly and reach patients' rooms.

In the southern Gaza Strip, four Palestinians were killed in Israeli shelling of the Al Mawasi area in Khan Yunis. A civilian was killed in a drone strike on the town of Al-Qarara, while another succumbed to wounds sustained in shelling that targeted a tent in the Al-Mashru' area west of Khan Yunis.

A civilian was also killed in an Israeli drone strike near the town of Al-Nasr in Rafah, and two people were injured in shelling that targeted a group of citizens in Block 9 of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023, had risen to 53,119 martyrs and 120,214 wounded.
