Dar Al Watad’s pavilion at the Doha International Book Fair (DIBF) hosted the signing ceremony for The Impact of Strategic Planning on Crisis Management by writer and researcher Hussein Mohammed Badr Abdullah al-Sadah.
The book is made up of three chapters covering strategic planning concepts and stages, crisis management skills, and a practical analysis of the performance of Qatari institutions in facing challenges.
It primarily targets decision-makers and executive management in both the public and private sectors, aiming to promote a culture of strategic preparedness rather than reactive responses.
The publication is an extension of the author’s 2019 Master’s thesis, offering a scientific and practical perspective on the importance of strategic planning in crisis response.
Al-Sadah emphasised that crisis management does not begin at the moment of occurrence but rather with proactive planning and foresight.
He further explained that the book aims to raise awareness among institutions and decision-makers about the necessity of having specialised crisis management units and developing realistic scenarios to address crises, noting that modern crises are no longer limited to one category but encompass various administrative and organisational challenges that require advanced planning.
The book combines theoretical frameworks with practical analysis, presenting a case study from Qatar that demonstrates how strategic planning has enabled institutions to overcome major crises efficiently, thanks to visionary leadership and organisational adaptability.
