Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa stated that the United States' decision to lift sanctions on Syria represents a significant step toward ending the suffering of the Syrian people.

In his speech Wednesday, President Al Sharaa praised the efforts of allied and friendly nations in pushing for the removal of sanctions on Syria, highlighting Qatar's crucial role in supporting Syria from the very beginning. He stressed that this support was instrumental in strengthening Syria's position on the international stage.

Al Sharaa reaffirmed Syria's commitment to fostering an attractive investment climate, updating economic legislation, and providing necessary incentives to enable both domestic and foreign capital to actively contribute to reconstruction and comprehensive development.

The president also welcomed investors from Syria, the Arab world, and international partners, encouraging the utilization of available opportunities across various sectors.

He concluded his speech by stating that they will not allow Syria to be divided or its people to be fragmented, reiterating the importance of strengthening the investment environment and inviting global investors to participate in building Syria's future.

Earlier today, U.S. President Donald Trump announced during his speech at the Saudi-American Investment Forum in Riyadh that he would lift sanctions on Syria to provide an opportunity for recovery.
