Hour and Hour programme has organized a special event in celebration of Qatar Family Day.

The event was held in collaboration with the Qatar Media Center and Nomas Center, with participation from the Friends of the Environment Center, and was attended by families, female students, and representatives from partner organizations.

The event took place under the theme "Succession of generations", a slogan introduced by the Hour and Hour programme to reflect its commitment to strengthening family bonds, fostering intergenerational connection, and instilling core values in children by reviving cultural and social heritage in a modern and engaging way that builds bridges between generations.

Tamani al-Yafie, CEO of the Hour and Hour programme, affirmed that this Family Day celebration combined heritage with environmental awareness, aiming to reinforce authentic values and deepen the younger generation’s sense of belonging. She noted that community partnerships such as this reflect a spirit of collaboration and contribute to building a cohesive, rooted society. She emphasized that the Hour and Hour programme plays a vital role in society by promoting family cohesion, strengthening intergenerational relationships, and connecting youth with their heritage and history.

The event included several educational and awareness workshops. Maryam al-Dosari, Head of the Girls’ Division at Nomas Center, delivered a session on the historical role of Qatari women in the family. She introduced students to traditional women’s items, clothing, accessories, and local aromatic plants,in an interactive format that captured the students' attention.

Al-Dosari commented that the collaboration with the Hour and Hour programme supports a shared mission to preserve Qatari identity and heritage, adding that both Nomas Center and the programme align in delivering the unified message embodied in the slogan "Our Identity Lies in Our Heritage."

Jassim al-Maadheed, Deputy Director of Nomas Center, also presented a workshop on diving and maritime life. He explored the lifestyle of seafaring Qataris, diving equipment, and fishing skills, giving the event a rich traditional dimension reflecting the coastal culture of Qatar.

Dr Hael al-Waawi, an environmental expert from the Friends of the Environment Center, led a workshop on agriculture and native plants, focusing on the importance of environmental preservation. Students planted native plants as a symbolic gesture of connection to the land and a commitment to sustainability.

This event is part of a series of initiatives by Hour and Hour programme aimed at promoting cultural and environmental values while providing diverse educational content that supports community awareness and development.
