Noble International School (NIS), Qatar, bagged a major achievement by winning second place among 170 teams from around the world in a competition organised by the Arts and Business College of London (ABC London) in collaboration with Space Store.
The event, themed around designing a futuristic and sustainable habitat for Mars 2040, selected only 10 teams for the final round after a rigorous evaluation process. The first prize was awarded to a team from the US, while the third and fourth prizes went to teams from New Zealand and the UK, respectively.
The NIS team, comprising Grade 12 students — Ashwanth Kumar, Amal Shibu, Shivansh Sharma and Hazim Ahmed — impressed an international panel of judges with their innovative and scientifically sound Mars habitat design.
Their project stood out for its creativity, sustainability, and outstanding presentation.
The school management, principal Dr Shibu Abdul Rasheed, vice principals, heads of sections, and the teaching faculty congratulated the team for bringing pride to NIS and the broader Qatari educational community, a statement said.
