HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Italian Republic Khalid bin Youssef Al Sada affirmed that the State of Qatar's participation in this year's Biennale Venice is part of a strategic cultural vision aimed at promoting cultural dialogue with the world and strengthening bilateral relations with Italy, based on a firm belief that culture serves as an effective bridge for communication and understanding among peoples.
In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Al Sada said that the approach reflects the State of Qatar's deep belief in the role of culture in building sustainable partnerships and demonstrates the country's commitment to supporting cultural initiatives both regionally and internationally.
He added that relations between the State of Qatar and the Italian Republic continue to develop across various fields, highlighting that cultural cooperation is one of the key pillars of this relationship. He stressed the State of Qatar's commitment to deepening this cooperation in a way that serves the mutual interests of both friendly nations.
The ambassador noted the signing of a cooperation protocol between Qatar Museums and the Municipality of Venice in 2024, describing it as a milestone in bilateral cooperation. The agreement aims to strengthen joint efforts in cultural, social, and economic areas, and reflects the depth of the Qatari-Italian partnership and both sides' eagerness to expand future collaboration.
HE Al Sada also pointed out that the presence of the Qatar Pavilion this year in the Giardini Biennale, one of the city's iconic locations, underscores the growing stature of Qatari cultural diplomacy and the increasingly prominent role that Qatar plays on the global stage in supporting the arts, promoting culture, and advancing the values of openness and dialogue among nations.
