The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) and Qatar Charity (QC) concluded the "Generational Impact Maker Challenge" initiative and the accompanying charity exhibition, featuring 90 government schools to raise funds to build a school in Syria.
The event was held under the patronage and in the presence of HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater and CEO of Qatar Charity Yousuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari.
HE Al Khater praised the initiative as an inspiring initiative that aligns with the ministry's vision to instill humanitarian values and foster social responsibility among students.
Her Excellency added that the initiative effectively translated values into action, enhanced social awareness among students, and highlighted the importance of volunteerism in developing impactful individuals. Her Excellency sincerely thanked all supporters and expressed her gratitude to Qatar Charity for the fruitful cooperation in a valued partnership that aims to deepen community impact and foster a culture of giving and social responsibility.
Meanwhile, Al Kuwari expressed his satisfaction with the strong participation in the initiative, which involved 90 boys' and girls' schools, along with active engagement from families, teachers, and staff.
He noted that the challenge fostered students' awareness of giving and social responsibility, resulting in the successful funding of a school for children affected by the crisis in Syria.
The event featured diverse segments, including a student-performed musical operetta and a video showcasing the schools' achievements throughout the initiative. Highlights included 85 awareness workshops promoting charitable values and more than 60 cultural, artistic, and sports activities carried out by students in support of the initiative.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, HE Al Khater presented awards to the winning schools. Al-Bayan Primary School for Girls received the award for the highest fundraising school through donation boxes and the online platform. Al-Shaymaa Secondary School for Girls and Doha Preparatory School for Boys were honored for the best awareness activities, while Al-Khor Preparatory School for Girls and Qatar Primary School for Boys were recognized for outstanding performance in reporting and monthly follow-up.
Following the ceremony, HE Al Khater and Al Kuwari, along with officials, inaugurated the exhibition. During their tour of students' and partners' booths, Her Excellency lauded the students' creativity and underscored the vital role of art, interactive activities, and awareness initiatives in promoting humanitarian values.
The exhibition featured 20 booths, where schools showcased handmade crafts, along with an art gallery displaying students' creative paintings available for sale. The proceeds from the sales will be donated to charitable causes.
Other bodies also participated in the exhibition with awareness booths that focused on charitable work and community service. They included the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Justice, Dakkaken Group, Lusail Studios, Tarbeya Center, and FMM Company. The exhibition was open to attendees and the public from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
In line with Qatar National Vision 2030's social development goals, the "Generational Impact Maker Challenge" initiative aims to promote global engagement and develop students' skills in humanitarian and community action.
Launched in October 2024, the first edition of the "Generational Impact Maker Challenge" aimed to promote humanitarian values within the school community. The initiative successfully funded the construction of a school for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Syria through innovative fundraising efforts and awareness activities on key humanitarian issues.
