
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, Dr. Fuad Hussein the situation in Palestine and Syria, and ways to restore regional stability.
The Egyptian Presidency said in a statement that the meeting emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the Arab nation and the complete rejection of the displacement of Palestinians. The meeting also addressed the latest regional developments.
During the meeting, the Egyptian President affirmed his country's commitment to the success of the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad, especially in light of the current circumstances facing the Arab region, which call for full solidarity among sister Arab countries.
The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment fields, and to explore broader horizons for cooperation to achieve the common interests of the two sisterly countries. The two sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation on various issues.
The Iraqi official handed the Egyptian president an invitation from the Iraqi president to attend the 34th regular session of the Arab Summit and the 5th session of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, both of which will be hosted by Baghdad on May 17.
