As the world observed World Creativity and Innovation Day on April 21, Qatar Charity (QC) reaffirmed its commitment to harnessing technology to support humanitarian causes.
Through the launch of innovative digital initiatives, QC seeks to make donating easier and more accessible, while fostering a culture of generosity within the community, a statement said.
QC’s ‘Tap to Donate,’ is a pioneering fundraising technology and a first in Qatar. The solution enables individuals to support humanitarian work through a simple tap of their bank cards, ensuring a seamless and efficient donation process.
With a practical design and an easy-to-use screen, the ‘Tap to Donate’ device is placed in key locations such as shopping malls, hospitals, pharmacies, cafés, fuel stations, and sports clubs. QC’s suite of innovative solutions also includes Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. Smart tags embedded with NFC chips are installed on devices placed in restaurants, cafés, health centres, and mosques, allowing users to easily access a direct link to the donation page when their phone is brought near the tag.
QC’s updated mobile app simplifies the donation process — enabling users to browse charitable projects, choose their preferred payment method, and contribute to humanitarian causes with ease. The app also enables year-long instalment donations, the statement added.
