Msheireb team have been crowned champions of the Amateur Union Cup, which was held with the participation of 6 teams: Msheireb, Al Matar, Al Aziziyah, Al Wakr, Al Shaqab and Al Riffa.
The tournament that was held at the Qatar University stadiums with evening kick-off times.
Msheireb beat Riffa on penalty kicks with a score of 8-7. In regulation time, both teams were locked at two goals each.
For his part, Khaled Rashid al-Nuaimi, President of Musheireb Club, expressed his great happiness after the team was crowned winners.
Al-Nuaimi said: “I congratulate the technical staff and players on the well-deserved title after great efforts throughout the tournament, and at the expense of a good competitor like Al-Riffa team, which includes competent players in its ranks. I would like to thank and congratulate Sheikh Eid bin Thamer al-Thani, President of Al-Riffa Club, for the level that his team presented during the tournament.”
