The newly established Qatar Tamilar Traditional Sports (QTTS) organisation, in association with the Indian Sports Centre, hosted its inaugural event featuring Pallankuzhi, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Uriyadi, and Silambam.

QTTS aims to revive and promote Tamil traditional sports among the younger generation in Qatar.

The event had over 300 participants. It is planned to hold an International Silambam Championship in Qatar on April 25, along with training programmes for Valaippandu (Ring Ball) and traditional Tamil musical instruments Thavil and Nadaswaram.

QTTS president Pazhanikumar Gurusamy, vice-president Prem Kala Saravanan, general secretary Silambam Saravanan, joint secretary Muhammad Kamarudheen, treasurer Nirmal Chandrabose, traditional sports head Srinivasan, secretary Vasanth, arts and culture head Vengat Prabhu, secretary Dakshinamurthy, IT and media secretary Manimala Ilamurugan and sponsorship secretary Durai were present.
