At least seven people were injured on Thursday after a South Korean Air Force fighter jet accidentally dropped eight bombs outside a training range during live-fire exercises, authorities said.
Local authorities said they received a report that a projectile believed to have come from the jet fell on a road near a civilian home in Bucheon, 40 kilometers north of Seoul, injuring seven people, ranging from minor to serious, and destroying buildings.
The KF-16 fighter jet taking part in a live-fire exercise "abnormally" released eight MK-82 bombs outside the training range in Bucheon.
The Air Force announced that it is conducting an investigation into the accident.
