The restaurants at Doha's Souq Waqif have been experiencing an increasing turnout of customers for Iftar and Sohour meals since the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the restaurants offer a variety of dishes that reflects the diversity of Qatar residents. The meals also suit different budgets according to the type and amount of food served. The operators of these restaurants stressed that the unique location of Souq Waqif coupled with the excellent weather conditions have almost doubled the usual turnout of customers during this year.
The popular location has a wide collection of restaurants that offer special dishes from around the world such as the Iraqi, Egyptian, Iranian, Indian, European and Arabic cuisines among many others. It has been noted that most customers prefer their main meal to be included within Iftar with various dishes that include meat and chicken in addition to sweets and various types of soups. However, most customers prefer lighter dishes for their suhour. Some restaurants serve their meals through orders while others maintain open buffets at a fixed charge.
