- A delegation from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) visited the headquarters of the Malaysian Nuclear Agency to learn about Malaysias experience in managing and operating secondary calibration laboratories for radiation dosimeters (SSDL).
The delegation discussed with their Malaysian counterparts ways of joint cooperation and the exchange of expertise in the fields of radiation protection, monitoring and management, as well as the latest standards and techniques used in secondary calibration laboratories.
The program also included working sessions and field visits to laboratories to familiarize the Qatari delegation with the procedures followed in calibration and inspection operations.
The Qatari delegation expressed its appreciation for the high efficiency and technological progress of the Malaysian Nuclear Agency in this field, and stressed the importance of this visit in enhancing the prospects of bilateral cooperation between the countries and deepening the future scientific and technical partnership.
This visit comes within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, represented by the Radiation Protection Department, to enhance regional and international cooperation in the field of radiation security, and exchange expertise and competencies to achieve the highest standards in the State of Qatar, to ensure the protection of humans and the environment.
