The State of Qatar participated in the UN Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) High-Level Pledging Forum, which kicked off in Marrakesh, the Kingdom of Morocco, with the attendance of a number of Their Excellencies Ministers from around the world, UN representatives, international organizations concerned with road safety, and senior officials from private sector companies.

Qatar's delegation was headed by HE Minister of Transport Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Thani.

During his speech at the forum, HE Minister of Transport affirmed the State of Qatars commitment to investing in a safer future for all road users around the world, explaining that the State of Qatars contribution of $450,000 to the UNRSF, as the first pledge among the forums pledges, affirms the States efforts to achieve traffic safety principles and reduce traffic accidents.

His Excellency said that the State of Qatar supports all efforts made by the UN and its organizations to achieve the required goals regarding road safety in a way that preserves lives and property and enhances sustainable development.

This forum aims to mobilize financial resources to support the UNRSF mission to help governments achieve the Decade of Action for Road Safety goal to reduce the number of deaths by 50 percent by 2030.
