The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) announced that during the National Sport Day (NSD) holiday on Tuesday, its 20 designated health centres received a total of 4,465 visitors, including both citizens and residents. This includes 3,324 patients who visited general medicine and family medicine clinics, while general dentistry clinics received 142 visitors. Additionally, Urgent Care Units across 12 health centres—namely Al Mashaf, Al Sadd, Abu Baker Al Siddiq, Al Ruwais, Al Sheehaniya, Al Kaaban, Gharrafat Al Rayyan, Rawdat Al Khail, Muaither, Umm Slal, Leabaib, and Al Karaana—handled 504 cases, each managed according to its urgency.
PHCC also ensured the availability of specialised clinics, including ophthalmology, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), dermatology, and pre-marital screening. During the holiday, the ophthalmology clinic served 52 patients, the ENT clinic attended to 39 patients, and the dermatology clinic received 45 patients at Leabaib and Rawdat Al Khail health centers.
The pre-marital screening clinic welcomed 10 visitors at Leabaib and Al Mashaf health centres. PHCC’s Community Call Centre provided 169 virtual consultations—both video and voice—to patients who contacted the 16000 helpline without a prior appointment. This service ensures rapid access to urgent medical consultations and prescription issuance by specialised doctors in the shortest possible time.
