The Third Souq Waqif International Dates Exhibition started on Thursday at the Eastern Square of the Souq Waqif, featuring 95 companies from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Algeria, Oman, Pakistan, and Sudan.

Held under the supervision of the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office (PEO) the exhibition aims to promote the dates industry and enhance commercial cooperation between producers, suppliers and traders from different countries.

The exhibition, according to a statement from PEO, also represents an ideal opportunity to acquire the best types of dates before the advent of Ramadan, during which dates are of particular importance.

The exhibition, open to the public until February 24, from 9am to 12noon and from 3.30pm to 10pm daily, offers a wide range of products, including luxury dates and their derivatives. Khalid Saif al-Suwaidi, general supervisor said the exhibition, said: "We are proud to see the participation of 95 companies specialised in the production and manufacture of dates from seven countries. This reflects the growing importance of this event as an international platform for exchanging experiences.”
