Under the theme of Play Sport, Stay Strong, the Community College of Qatar (CCQ), celebrated National Sport Day on Tuesday in collaboration with Doha International Centre for Interfaith Dialogue (Dicid).

The activities included a marathon, the “strongest man” competition, volleyball, and football, among other sports and fitness challenges that engaged participants of all ages.

CCQ president Dr Khalid al-Horr underscored the significance of integrating sports into daily routines.

"At the CCQ, we are committed to making sports an essential part of our students' and employees’ lives,” he said. “We believe that physical activity contributes to improved academic and professional performance while enhancing overall well-being."

"I am delighted to see our members joining the CCQ community in this national initiative, which promotes fitness while strengthening social bonds and boosts productivity,” Dicid chairman Dr Ibrahim Saleh al-Naimi said. “Sports go beyond physical exercise; they instill teamwork, discipline, and a strong sense of community. That is why we actively support sports initiatives and encourage people to embrace an active lifestyle as part of their daily routine."

CCQ public relations and institutional communication manager Safia al-Sheeb highlighted the enthusiastic participation of students and staff, reflecting their growing awareness of the importance of fitness.
