Daam Specialised Care Centre has marked its five-year anniversary of delivering top-tier, compassionate care to patients aged 60 and above.

Established by Hamad Medical Corporation in collaboration with the Sport and Social Activities Support Fund, Daam was created with the vision to provide holistic and person-centred care for senior adults, a cornerstone in supporting Qatar's national goals outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Since its opening in 2020, Daam has been a beacon of excellence in senior care, offering specialised services for patients who require long-term care assistance. With a mission to address both the physical and emotional needs of patients, the facility has grown into a leading centre for geriatric care, earning prestigious Joint Commission and Person-Centred Care accreditations.

Dr Hanadi Khamis al-Hamad, deputy chief, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Long-Term Care, and Special education has been at the forefront of this initiative, ensuring that Daam’s services are not only aligned with international best practices but also tailored to the cultural and social norms of Qatar.

“Daam’s five-year milestone is a proud reflection of Qatar’s dedication to enhancing the quality of life for its aging population. We remain steadfast in our mission to provide exceptional, person-centered care, supporting the nation's broader vision for a healthier, more inclusive future,” said Dr Hanadi al-Hamad. “The success of Daam stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and a deep commitment to our respected senior citizens, whose dignity and well-being are at the heart of everything we do.”

Located in Building 312 of Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City in Doha, Daam is a fully equipped, state-of-the-art facility with 64 individually designed private rooms. The centre is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of skilled healthcare professionals, including geriatricians, nurses, and allied health workers. It provides a comprehensive range of services aimed at improving the physical, emotional, and social well-being of senior citizens.

Since its opening, Daam has admitted over 241 patients, discharging more than 158 individuals, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the multidisciplinary team.
