Doha is set to host the honoring ceremony for the winners of the Arab Sports Culture Association award 2024 today, under the patronage of HE Minister of Sports and Youth Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, and in the presence of a number of prominent Arab and international sports figures, in addition to a number of Arab sports stars.

The fifth annual conference of the Arab Sports Culture Association Award will also be held under the theme: 'The making of an Olympic champion: from selection to crowning'.

The Arab Sports Culture Association Award is one of the most important sports awards in the Arab world, aiming to consolidate the values of loyalty and appreciation for those who have made sincere efforts to serve Arab sports, as well as those who have made achievements and initiatives, in addition to encouraging promising Arab athletes.

At a press conference in Cairo last December, the Association unveiled the names of those who will be honored at the ceremony due to be held tomorrow.

The award consists of several branches, including the Arab sports culture award for personality of the year 2024, which will be given to HE Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Sports Culture Association, while Egypt's Ahmed Elgendy will be crowned with the Arab sports culture award for the best Arab sports achievement after winning the gold medal in the pentathlon at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Dr. Sari Hamdan, the first vice president of the Jordanian Olympic Committee, Dr. Ashraf Marei, the former president of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee, and Qatari Hamad Lahdan, Assistant Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, will also be crowned with the Arab sports culture award for giving 2024.

The Arab sports culture award for media will be awarded to Qatari media figure Abdullah Al Marri, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Raya newspaper; Iraqi Ali Riyah; Tunisian Dr. Reda Al Najjar, the supervisor of the training academy at the Arab States Broadcasting Union; Riyadh Radio in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and Yemeni Abdullah Al Harazi.
