DPS Modern Indian School held a condolence meeting to pay tribute to Hassan Chougule, the founder president of the DPS Group of institutions who passed away in India.
A towering figure in education and social welfare, Chougule exemplified commitment, perseverance, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence across diverse fields. He played a pivotal role in shaping education in Qatar, establishing institutions under the DPS Group, and bringing a campus of Pune University to the country. His contributions extended beyond education, as he also led all four apex Indian organisations in Qatar — Indian Cultural Centre, Indian Business and Professionals Council, Indian Sports Centre and Indian Community Benevolent Forum.
The gathering was marked by heartfelt tributes from community leaders, educators, and well-wishers. Principal Asna Nafees reflected on his remarkable journey and his profound impact on the lives of all associated with him.
President Yasir Nainar and vice-president George Thomas shared their personal experiences and deep appreciation for his guidance and leadership. Leaders from the DPS Group of Institutions conveyed their respect and gratitude for his invaluable role in establishing and nurturing the institution. Leaders from various community organisations expressed their reverence for Chougule, the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman awardee, emphasising his vision and relentless efforts for the welfare of the Indian community in Qatar.
The meeting concluded with a prayer session led by the school’s management members, seeking solace for the illustrious soul whose contributions have left an indelible mark on education and Indian diaspora in Qatar.
