The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior (MoI), has announced the beginning of a survey and inventory of dangerous animals and creatures in Qatar, in implementation of the provisions of Law No. (10) of 2019 Concerning Regulating the Acquisition of Dangerous Animals and Creatures.

MoECC has invited the owners and possessors of these animals and creatures listed below, to register them in the special register, using the form publsihed here, and sending the same form to [email protected] .

Doberman, Ridgeback , American Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Boston Terrier, German Pinscher, Staff Ord Shir Terrier, Bull Terrier, Ca De Bou, Canary Dog, Dogo Argentino, Brazilian Mastiff, Spanish Mastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff, Bull Dog , Bull Mastiff, Old English Mastiff, Dogu De Bordeaux, Boxer, Great Dane, Rottweller, Shar Pei, Cane Corso, Kangel Dog, Tibet Dog, Sheep Dog Caucasim, Ovcharka, Alpine Mastiff, Panthera Leo, Panthera Tigris, Panthera Pardus, Panthera Onca, Puma Concolor, Acinonyx Jubatus, Crocuta Crocuta, Hyaena Hyaena, Vulpes Vulpes, Canis Aurcus, Crocodiles - all Species, Papio Hamadryas, Chorocrbus Pygerythrus , Chimpanzee (Scientific name: Pan Troglodytes), Gorilla (Scientific name: Gorilla Spp), Spiders -all Species, Snakes-all Species, Scorpions-all Species, Wild Cats- all Species, Bears - all Species.

The deadline for registration is three months from the date of this announcement and ends on 22 April 2025.

The Ministry also emphasised that the acquisition of dangerous animals and creatures without a license from the competent department is considered a crime punishable by imprisonment for a period not exceeding three years and a fine not exceeding (100,000 QAR), or one of these two penalties, in accordance with Article (8) of the Law.

This measure aims to enhance public safety and ensure compliance with the provisions of the law, thus contributing to the protection of individuals and the environment, the Ministry said in a statement posted on social media.
